A.M. Sup

KLites eat 24 hours a day. We love our food and we expect to find places that stay open for our gourmandizing pleasures. Many of them are run by Indian-Muslims affectionately known as mamak and so, whenever we're in need of a good roti or local beverage, we say, "Let's go to the mamak." Here's a mamak waiter taking a breather from our incessant demands.

I Goggled mamak and sure enough found 636,000 hits. The term has not made the Webster's dictionary but it is on wikipedia.

Great post. Starbucks watch out.

Well, you can call it a local bistro but there are a few that occupy close to 10,000SQ ft. You can feed yourself fully with USD2.

Googled and Wiki-ed Mamak? I've never tried that. Will do so after this and see how accurate the description is.

You recognized him??? That's amazing! he's been there for years. When I come by to London, I'll freeze a couple of murtabaks for you. My brother lives there and my sister is in Bradford. So, keep in touch and perhaps, someday soon, you'll have your wish of our homegrown yummies.

Till then.
