food unites us
Today, many Chinese people have taken the day off and are rushing home to their families. Their extended families. Why? It's the day before Chinese New Year. It's tradition for a family to gather for a reunion meal the night before a new year.
Here you see some people buying stuff that they'll use for the dishes they will serve tonight. I wonder what my neighbours will be cooking. I'm going to have a sniff over the fence now.

Is that kerupuk that hanging? Oh, I miss kerupuk. I have to ask my mum to send me a packet of kerupuk ASAP :)

That looks an interesting shop. Go knocking on doors and see if you can get a sample from your neighbours!
Edwin- are you back in action every day? I'm just now looking over your recent posts - been very busy at work. I particularly like your February 2 post. It reminds me of some of the work of a favorite photographer, the German Andreas Gursky (whom you could Google).

PS - your second photo of the twin towers was fantastic!
Great picture. I admire the effort of trying. It does capture the life in the city before chinese new year. However, I would love to see more focused groups in this picture. Right now I can easily separate this picture into several groups. The keropok area, the lady and the man at the foreground, the shop front cause I would love to see more of the top neo classicism red banner and the bargain at the background seems interested also. In short, this picture is way too busy and lack of focus. A good picture is so compact that it cannot be torn apart. Think again.
It's interesting that "white key" cannot be reached for a reaction to his comments.
