sontag

Just when I thought I had nothing to post, I find these orchids blooming in my guest bathroom window sill. And it's Sunday, day of rest. And they look quite restful, don't they?

I'm off to rehearsal now. Tomorrow, I get to go walkabouts again.

Jenny, you stole the words...if that was in my house, it would be because somebody brought them as a gift and in the first few hours. Otherwise I'm sure they would never survive!

You can even see the velvety look of the purple. Sometimes the best photos are closest to us.

Beautiful orchids! There are so many different kinds, but to me they always look so amazingly detailed and delicate.

orchids are beautiful but these are quite amazing - white and purple - what a color combo for a flower

What a fantastic looking flower! About all I can grow is mold. Great angle for the light, makes the white just glow! Great shot!

I do like orchids! The last one I have had bloomed for almost one year long! Does this wonderful one grow naturally in your country?

Jenny, Nancee and Eric, there's more at the back of the garden but orchids haven't fared well lately. That's why I was so amazed when I saw these.

Felicia and Kala, there's something about orchids. The fragility and yet they look so full of strength.

Midnite, these flowers are my mother's doing. I'm both our mothers would have a great time together ;)

Jugger, at least you have mold ;)

Alice, a tropical plant and flower but I think better grown in slightly cooler environments. They do grow naturally here especially up in the hills and shaded/shady places.

Evreryone, always, thank you for making my day. Off to sleep now from a wonderfully rewarding day.

Simply super. Edwin, do you need a guest in that that guest suite of yours to look after the orchid while you're busy rehearsing. Maybe Nowhere Man can try & play at being Everywhere Man!!

Great macro. I met someone who just got a new Nikon D70s, I recommended to visit your blog, told him that he will be inspired just by looking at your works.

Not fair. To get orchids to grow where I live is practically a full-time job. Maybe one day I'll have a little greenhouse of my own so I can have an orchid!
