Petaling Street pt.4

Time. There never seems to be enough. So why not haggle yourself a Rolex or a Tag? You won't get any more time but at least you'd look good wondering where it went. No mortgage required.

This man is one of the many that sell these much sort-after timepieces in Chinatown. He tried to sell me one but I declined. However, I did ask him to pose for the camera and he obliged. Don't be fooled by the picture. He has a great smile and was very friendly. I asked him why he didn't smile for the shot. He said he wanted to look dashing and sexy.

I don't doubt you; all the watch people I've met are really nice I love all the watches in the background; it screams "watch store."

Edwin, Go back and tell him that smiles are VERY sexy! It's wonderful when someone is gracious and willing to be photographed. Enjoying watching this one!

PS. Your postcard makes me want to visit Kuala Lumpur and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building.

Is that man made of gold? Strange lighting and his pose makes him look statuesque ( if that's a word!)

I am finding the energy that portrait photos have inside. In that face I see kindness. I hope not to be wrong.

Sincerely, great shot.

how funny! i would hate to see a pic of myself trying to look dashing and sexy. it is quite a striking portrait. he looks a bit greeny-gold to me, but i do have funny eyes

Pod is the winner here! Especially the last sentence, he's turned the Prince of Time into a frog.
Did he really say "Dashing" or local equivalent, or was that you embellishing, Louie? Ben's a true diplomat and I'll go along with him, seeing as I'm now a few gods short of an Adonis. BTW, this 'old man' (thanks!) is now less than 3 weeks short of getting another ring around his trunk. Hard to believe, isn't it?

Ok, this man is looks a bit copper-green because of the light from the plastic awning above him re. the first picture in the series. He's not some strange leprechaun moonlighting as a watch-salesman just to supplement the pot of gold...or is he?? :)

Yay Lisi! You received my postcard!

Kate, I knew you'd like yours. I remembered you liked my pictures of that building.

Hello Joel, welcome to KLDP!

Alex, glad you noticed his warm eyes. Commercial?

Thanks you guys for coming by. Wasn't sure how these shots would be received. More to come of course :)

Is it the guy that's funny/honest, or you that bring out that kind of a comment, Eddie. What a hoot! Just for that, I'll come looking for him when I get to Singapore one of these days and buy a CHEAP watch from him. You can tell him that!

We've seen a number of living statues lately on DP blogs and at first I thought this was another one, the bronze light on his face is amazing! Great portrait, and funny story too...
