and the award goes to...

Second Link, the production I was in last year, took home the Best Emsemble trophy which prevented another show from making a clean sweep of all the awards in the Theatre category. Too bad for them cos we deserved it. Modesty is not in my vocabulary. From left to right, Anne James, Reza Zainal Abidin, me (3 of the 10 actors) and Myra, one of the show's producers. My love to Krishen, Eleanor, Ivan, Puay Tin, Karen, Suki, Sweenie, Yu-Beng, Jonathan, Gani, Fahmi, Vernon, Juraidah, Kenny, Adrian but most of all to Marion... Thank you.

This marks the end of posting KLDP. I have a busy year and already posting daily up till today has been a feat. I have commitments to fulfill and I'm afraid I'd be letting you down as I've noticed the quality of my pictures are below my own expectations. Kuala Lumpur is far too beautiful and deserves the best pictures.

I will, however, still be part of the DP community. I'll post every theme day and when I find something good. I'll leave it to the reigning powers to decide whether KLDP is taken off the list or stays in it.

It's been the best 15 months. I've met good people. Photography is now my best friend. And I've rediscovered Kuala Lumpur.

Thank you for visiting. Dijah and Emily, our city is yours now. Thanks for taking this shot Chris.

Love always.

Congratulations on the well-deserved award--love the photo, such happy faces. My face is not so happy, tho because a frown covers it as I read about your daily departure. So sad--but, I understand. It's difficult, posting is fun and commentary is necessary for encouragement but it is SO time consuming. I also may alter my activities, but haven't decided yet. I wish you luck, luck, luck and much happiness. Will eagerly await theme days from you!!

It's sad that you are leaving us. You have shot lots of wonderful pictures in the past 15 months. To be honest, I have gone through almost all of them and yes, all of them are really AWESOME. Do post some pictures if you free. We gonna miss you so much.

p/s: to DP, let him stay in the list :D cos he's awesome.

Edwin, honestly speaking I understand you 'cause it's heavy for me too to post everyday that "good photo" I think my city deserve. Then loving and aiming to see other cities' daily photo it's nice to surf on the portal but this require lot of time too... So, again, I understand you but this doesn't diminish my regret about your decision. -- I make mine to you (and to Eric) keropok suggestion: why not to post once a week? I really really hope you can consider this suggestion. I am sad.

a great way to end with an award, Ed. - Congratulation! Still we wish you'd still be around in the community, as suggested once a week, ok?

actually, i intend to stop by my 365th post which is less than a month (feel a bit woohoo!)

Totally understand the reason for ending your post on 'daily' basis, i kind of agree with how you feel about 'this not posting photos of your own standard or expectations'... it's ok, just post for Theme day with a creative shot....it'll be much better off than the 'drain out feeling' which is meaningless........Congratulations for this award!

its a good ending and its a good start, though sad for us a little bit, no, so much more. :(((

well, totally understand what you feel. just like I feel now also, really wish i could split myself into many pieces so that we could do all the things we want to do at the same time, like the Monkey King.

I agree with the upper buddies' suggestion, just show up when you have time, and let us know how beautiful the KL is in the future.

best wishes....
missing you already.

Thank you for being so understanding and supportive guys. It really was a difficult decision to make but in the last few weeks, my projects kicked into high gear and I haven't the time to take pictures. Every moment is spent driving through traffic, from one meeting to another, from one event to another.

I'm just so thankful it's work that I love doing.

I have an archive of pictures that haven't been seen by anyone, pictures i've taken for the pure fun of it all. I do hope you'll go visit my other photoblog (twotowers.blogspot.com) cos I'll be posting regularly there. Yup, it's all the other stuff that i didn't think was appropriate for KLDP.

I'll come and visit all of you every now and then.

And I already have my June Theme day shot. Can't wait.

Thank you ever so much. :)

Dear dear Edwin,

Thanks for your personal message - Very much appreciated.
The news of the end of KLDP is a bit sad but doesn't come as a surprise. I know you need time to devote for other great projects and you are too talented to accept sub-standard productions. Good of you to set high standards.

This has been a great adventure, there are new ones ahead. I wish you all the best, you know how much I do.

I feel blessed to have met you through the city DP webring and look forward to our monthly reunions on Theme days.
Please use these as an opportunity to give us updates on your life. We want to hear about your plays, your photo exhibitions, everything.

Look after yourself
Love

Well that's you Ed, to a tee. Leave 'em begging for more, go out as a winner, holding your gong! One of the drawbacks of stopping posting & visiting regularly is that something like this (your departure)and it gets picked up late.
All I can & will say is, your impact speaks for itself, but as you are beingtrue to yourself and totally honest in your valedictory speech, I can only back you to the hilt. Even so, it still comes as a shock.
One last thing though: if you thought you were slipping away & that was that, as far as I'm concerned you know you can forget it. I value knowing you too highly, and I need you out there too much to just let you dip below the horizon, or out beyond the stratosphere. You'll have mail, you bugger! You just reach out there and go for it!!!With love always,
S

Congrats on that award, Ed. Although I did not make it on time I recently discovered your stop along the way. As I said to Kris once, that will happen to any of us sooner or later which does not mean you make a sudden sort Bob-like vaporizing :) So as I assume you will be around I won't give you the typical sad farewell. If voting is needed to keep your site on top please everybody count me in. I would dare to propose that exceptions could be made after reaching a certain agreement by any means, but who am I but a drop in the vast ocean of community interests. Let everybody cast their vote. See you soon my friend.
