selamat pengantin baru

Earlier this afternoon, under the blazing hot sun, my cousin Rena got married. Here she is with her shags-on-tap Hadi. As you can see, they're both elated. I wish them all the best that the years will bring. It was a wonderful day with the relatives. Once again, my mother was asked when I would be giving her a daugther-in-law and a troupe of grandkids. She looked at me and we both laughed!

Seeing it's a day for new beginnings, drop by and visit our new DP family member, Tanty.

He is a very lucky man, is she showing V for victory or is it some tradition we don't know about?

I like her tiara, I've never seen one on head scarf like this. and what's with her fingers, something to do with a tradition?

The V sign? It's a modern tradition. V for victory as in, "I'm finally free from the grasps of my parents!" ;)

The dye on her fingers is a tradition thing. It's called Inai. Flowers and patterns are painted on the top of the hand. It's done to ward off evil and also to show that she is a newlywed.

Since you decided to include bigger pictures everything looks amazing. I have to tell you that I like the color and quality of your photographs. This couple could well appear in National Geographic magazine at the "people of the world" section or something of the sort.
