lights! camera! action!

It was late when I finished rehearsal. I was tired but needed to unwind before heading home. So, I drove around for a couple of blocks while listening to Diana Krall's new album 'From This Moment On' and stared into space, without losing control of my car that is. I stopped by the towers just to admire the lights. As usual, my faithful Nikon was with me. So, I fished it out and VĂ³ila! This shot happened. At first, I thought it was crap. When I loaded it this morning, I changed my mind. This was exactly how I saw them last night. Like I said, I was staring into space.

Now, isn't that picture something my friend? I substitute myself behind that lens and see the whole sequence unfold; just a milli-second of lateral movement of the hand produces this result and...that overnight change of perception. The cartoonesque dancing operatics I particularly love, with grand finale smoke plumes. Mikado meets Disney The "firworks" comm. is understandable.
Second, you & eine kleine nachtmusik...I instantly go and look for some DK and to my miffed bewilderment, find they are all missing. So Chick Corea "Works" instead (who coincidentally is playing Lisbon tonight with Gary Burton). Today is Car-Free Day; plug your MP3 into your ears and take a walk tonight. Bye-BYEEEEE!

OMG EDWIN! You were seeing DOUBLE! I hope you made it home without hitting something! Are your eyes still crossed? ;-) And here's artsy for ya--look at that repetitive shape...start at the top of the tower where it's introduced--see it? Doesn't it look like a little more than half a "stylized" t-shirt? Think graphic art here...See it? And it appears in different weights throughout the piece, finishing in a chorus line of sorts at the botton! AWESOME! And just how did you shoot up so damn HIGH! Now that sounded funny...but I know you know what I mean? (=
