raison d’être

This isn't a shot of what is in KL but it's a shot of what came to KL. As I walked in my house and checked the mail that came, I saw a postcard from HKDP, a gift from my Leosista Lisi. I immediately took a picture of it.

It was only after I took the shot did I notice the entire composition. The postcard is propped up against my camera bag, which has a Leo patch on it (Lisi and me are both Leos) and these were on top of 2 books I had bought earlier in the day. Look at what the books are. This shot, I feel describes our DP experiences perfectly. Our community exists oh-so-well.

Thanks Lisi (I get along with all the Leos I know).

Thanks to everyone too, for the amazing daily travels.

tres bon. il suffirait de reunir les plus belles photos des DP Blog pour faire aussi un livre "le monde en 100 blogs"

very good. it would be enough to join together the most beautiful photographs of the DP Blog to also make a book “the world in 100 blogs”

A good case of serendipity.

Perhaps that's the next thing, we send postcards to all fellow bloggers.

If you fancy one from me, you'll have to e-mail me your address.

Love the composition, Ed. You inspire me to start my own dailyphoto blog. I still have the other blog so now I have to keep up with both.

You had it easy Ed; you got the card as a gift from Lisi. I had to earn mine. Great photo! Btw, your card looks brand new, nice and fresh. Mine was in transit for over a month (talk about snail mail),and is somewhat beat up; but I love the design on it nevertheless. Treasure the card; it's going to be a collector's item. :-)

Sending snail mail cards are fun. I got it from KL, it arrived rather quickly. Jing's Shanghai card took the longest to arrive! I have sent a few out as well. Who wants postcards from Singapore, email me :-) I will gladly send it off.

Edwin, you want one from Singapore too? Haha.. Your next trip to Singapore might be free courtesy of the Tourism Board promo. :-)

Great clear close-up shot.

Kerapok's remarks remind me that when we flew with Singapore airlines in 2001 they gave us some postcards free and promised to post them for us if we gave them to the stewards. I sent one to myself and a few other friends whose full addresses I could remember. I think I still have a couple of the unsent ones let over.

Anyone interested in postcards should check out the Postcrossing website.
