December 30, 2006

plump & ripe

Fruits anyone? I fancy a banana just about now. Here's a tourist at one of our many fruit stalls. I stood watching him for a couple of minutes as he chose his fruits and haggled the price. A tourist well versed in the art of local street ethics.

One more day to enjoy 2006 and all the fruits of your labour. Come Monday, another year begins with it's own set of dreams and aspirations. Do you have any? I do and I'm ready to take it on. This weekend I'm staying home to clean and fix broken things like wind-chimes and chairs. Hope you have a great final weekend of '06.

“There is throughout the markets of Provence
Which feel, the morning, sea and South
Of the fennel perfumes, melons and celeries
With in their medium, some kids who dance
Traveller of the night, me which in long string
crossed countries that I did not see
I am in a hurry at the point of the day to find on my steps
This filled with wonder world which laughs and which is challenged
the morning at the market "
Becaud
Bel display and beautiful photo, the colors are splendid.

He looks like he's studied the wares on the stall and has chosen to dive in. Delicious!

You photographed both the tourist and all the fruit in an inviting way. Plans for 2007? Just go with the flow! It's going to be interesting to see how my life changes while I'm in México. Check out mi casa in my Friday post and tell me what you think!!

Ed, this stall reminds me of when we were younger, dad will drive along this jalan and stop in front of the fruit stall.

We just tell the person the fruits we want, and the uncle will just pick the ones that are nice and sweet. They have this magical skill to see through the fruits and pick out the best. No haggling as well, as he always gives the best price as regulars.

Ming, I have some Dragon Fruits in my fridge now. They are quite delicious! The ones with pink filling inside are one of the best tasting!
